Dr. Rhonda Milner

In the early 2000s, as her fourth child neared high school graduation, Rhonda was trying to decide if she should return to practicing radiology. While she was running one day, Rhonda heard a message that she was supposed to be a doctor who healed people spiritually for their eternal life rather than healing the body for the temporal realm. She was reminded of a verse from the Bible:

“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:18

It was clear to Rhonda she was supposed to do something different from simply practicing medicine, she was supposed to help people spiritually – but she didn’t yet know how she was supposed to do that.

In October 2008, a friend who was active at Mt. Paran Church introduced Rhonda to Richmont. Both women had daughters who had struggled in high school and they were not aware of programs that integrate counseling and Christian spirituality. The women took a tour of Richmont, eager to learn more about integration; and Rhonda realized she was supposed to become a student again. She started classes at Richmont in January 2009, completed her Master of Arts in Professional Counseling in May 2013, a Master of Arts in Ministry in May 2015, and a Certificate in Spiritual Direction in December 2015. She also completed a two-year study with the Renovare Institute in Christian discipleship and spiritual formation in 2013.

Dr. Milner is the founder of Healing Presence Ministry, a global social media and internet ministry based on her poetry and spiritual writings with a following of almost 3 million. Her first book, The Mended Heart: a Poet’s Journey through Love, Suffering, and Hope, is a bestseller in Christian poetry. Her manuscript, “The Signature of God: His Name Written into Our Lives and the World,” is due to be released in July 2019.

Rhonda, a native of Atlanta, lives with her husband of 36 years and their six dogs. She is the mother of 4 children, having lost her oldest son at age 25 in 2011. Her son died from accidental drowning. She subsequently started a nonprofit to raise awareness, which can be found at

Rhonda was the 2019 Commencement speaker for Richmont Graduate University. She shared the lessons she learned while at Richmont, including that God opens unexpected doors and invites us to walk through them.
