Obtaining Materials

Many of the materials you need for research will be available through the full-text databases that are listed in the various sections of the library web pages. Books and copies of articles found in bound journals in the library are available. Contact library staff to discuss your needs. Addresses and phone numbers are available from the Staff page. You may request articles and books that are not already in the libraries through interlibrary loan. You can also suggest the purchase of materials.

Library Instruction

A library introduction will normally be given at the beginning of distance education classes. Along with tutorials and other instructional materials, librarians will be readily available for email and phone consultation. More extensive assistance is available through Skype and Google+ hangouts. Librarians will also make return visits to distance education points as the need arises.

Other Libraries

Even though the Richmont libraries will continue to give students the highlest level of library service, there may be times when students will find it convenient to visit other libraries. In Georgia, and nearby Chattanooga, Richmont students have privileges at other Georgia Private Academic Libraries members. If you want to be able to check out books; ask at your nearest Richmont library for a GPALS card. Many Community Colleges and state universities offer in-house access to collections, study space, and other services. Many public libraries also offer collections and services you may wish to use. In all cases, Richmont Graduate University Libraries will seek to serve its students’ information needs.
