Last year, during a conversation with my brother-in-law, he asked me several probing about my calling and my gifts. Working in marketing for 10 years I have enjoyed a good, stable job. Honestly, it took a lot of faith, conversations with my church pastors and family, and a supernatural encounter with the “Holy Spirit” experience to get me to apply and then officially sign-on to attend Richmont’s School of Ministry.

From the beginning, I felt excited and eager to dive into Richmont’s curriculum knowing that it was incredibly well-rounded. Cultivating a healthy world-view through spiritual formation and sound theology, while also wrestling through practical elements of ministry, have been critical piece in helping me become an effective and authentic minister. In order to help me articulate my theology I needed these practical elements to be a focus. Similarly, I have also needed the spiritual formation and leadership components in order to expand my views and knowledge base.

Today, with my undergraduate degree in Professional Sales, I am increasingly passionate about helping people discover their need for Christ.

I acknowledge that participating in the ministry of Christ does not require me to have a degree; rather, all who call themselves followers of Jesus are called to minister as their person becomes saturated and permeated into Christlikeness. However, as I have studied and sought the Lord’s will for my life, His call to an occupation in ministry, training had remained steadfast.  Now that I am halfway through my coursework I can honestly say that Richmont cultivates an effective environment for robust, relevant, and genuine growth into Christlikeness. Attending graduate school here has equipped me with new perspective, tools, encouragement for me to pursue my full potential in Jesus. I see glimpses of where God is at work and it is literally thrilling! For me, when I came back to Christ, the relationship was really alluring at first thanks to His grace and forgiveness. But then, I realized that there is serious submission is involved with following Christ and that it would cost me everything. But there’s no going back for me now as I am saying “yes” to Christ’s invitation invest my whole life into His work.
